Wild West Festival Parade Invitation and Information:

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in this year’s Wild West Festival Main Street Parade. Our theme is “HOMETOWN HEROES”.

This year’s theme is based on all 1st Responders, including ALL medical- “doctors, nurses, dispatchers ALL Police, Fire, and Military personell. If you work in a uniform, including Scrubs”…, We Want You to be AT OUR PARADE – this is in HONOR OF YOU. And we would like to ask you to come forward and be in the front of our parade to serve as our GRAND MARSHALLS! You may walk, or you can get on a float – but we want to recognize and THANK YOU for the jobs you do!!

And we ask that if you are not one of the above, please put together your crew, get your imaginations flowing, and bring your creativity and craftsmanship to life – for all to see July 4, 2020 at our big parade!

**Entries must be received on or before Wednesday July 1, 2020.

Parade line-up information will be sent to you no later than Thursday , July 2, 2020.

This year the Wild West Festival will once again offer prize money for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of our 2020 parade as follows: 1st Place winner will receive $100, 2nd Place winner will receive $75, and the 3rd Place winner will be receiving $50. So get those entries in! Remember there is no cost to enter, just get the paperwork completed online or print it out and mail to us and we will get you entered. We would love to see many entrants this year, to make this one of the best parades ever for our community!

As an added note: The Hays Police Department has issued us a letter, stating the following: effective immediately, a policy has been put into place that states: Each parade participant wanting to hand out candy to the children watching the parade, MUST have someone WALKING along the left and right sides of the parade float/vehicle, handing the items directly to the children. NO LONGER can any candy or parade items be thrown into the street. This enforcement comes as it is very dangerous to have children rushing into the street, with vehicles coming along the way. If you do not follow these rules, a HPD officer, has the authority to ask you to leave the parade immediately.

“We as the Wild West Festival committee” have to take this letter very seriously in order to continue having the parade each year, so we ask that you please comply with these new rulings, and refrain from “Throwing” items from your float, vehicle, or even from the middle of the street as walking.” THANK YOU!

Once again, we look forward to your entry in the 2020 Wild West Festival Parade.
